14th July - Teddy passed away
23rd July - Rupert passed away
These few weeks have been hard. . . my hamster and my dog died within a week of each other.
According to the vet, Rupert had been ill for 3 or 4 months with kidney disease and pancreatitis. He did a blood test and the results were "off the scale" which wasn't great news so we went back and chose to put him to sleep because the treatment he needed wasn't going to have a real effect. He may have lived for a couple more weeks. We didn't want Rupert to be in pain so this was the best thing to do. I'll miss him so much. I miss him every day. A few days leading up to his death there was a lot of rain but on Thursday the sun came out. Rupert adored sleeping in the sunshine! After his death, there has been rain again. He loved to turn round and round in circles to get comfortable and he'd bury your things (phone, books etc) if they were in his way before he could make his bed.
I'm not sure yet how I'm going to get through it, I want something to remember Rupert by but I want to be subtle. Poppy, our puppy, is struggling without her brother.
